HANA Studio: Not able to add a Cloud System. Error: Login failed, contact your administrator

Hi All,

I'm unable to add a cloud system in HANA studio (2.3.8 v) by entering the subaccount and Username/Password.

I'm getting an error saying "Login failed, contact your administrator"

However, I'm able to login to the online IDE with the same credentials.

Hi Harshita,

You probably have an outdated plugin version. On newer Eclipse versions you don't have the "Add Cloud System" option any more. This plugin piece has been discontinued in favor of setting up a tunnel to your database either via Neo's CLI (optained by installing the SCP SDK) or via SAP Cloud Connector.

Once you have a tunnel established you can connect to your HANA DB on Cloud using the localhost as standard HANA port.

Best regards,
Ivan

I have the same issue with Harshita Ranganath.

Ivan, do you mean this plugin is no longer available? If yes, what are the alternatives for connecting to HANA on Cloud Platform except for Web IDE?

I plugin was made available until a certain Eclipse release and it is now (AFAIK) deprecated.

For alternatives, please read my answer. You now must establish a secure tunnel yourself either by using the Neo SDK or the SAP Cloud Connector functionality (On-Premise to Cloud).

Best regards,
Ivan
