Personas 3.0/SP07 Script Error

We are using Personas 3.0/SP07 WEBGUI environment for our development. We get an error message reported by scripts tied to onLoad events. In these scripts we are setting up initial values for the selection screen fields. The error message notifies that it is not able to find the elements used in the script. This happens when a modal window pops up while the onLoad is being executed and it seems like the screen executing onLoad event does not have focus while the script continues to run and look for the existence of element ids used in the script on the modal window.

We are using "session.idExists" to overcome the error message..However the initialization of selection screen fields fail...wondering if there is any other way to ensure that the ones the script starts execution it should not loose the context...

Your help is much appreciated!

    Hi Sudhir,

If you're trying to access objects that aren't available, you will get the errors as you have stated. You need to make sure the fields are available when the script tries to execute the line. You need the "session.idExists" as you stated. Make sure any popup boxes are dealt with, filled in or closed, before the script continues to other fields on the main screen. With no specific script or transaction to look into this, that is all I can provide. Good luck.

    Thanks, Brian

    • Thanks Brian for the update. The screen ( modal window) popping up is not from the transaction that is being executed. It is a popup from sap logon message.. Doesn't happen frequently and hard to duplicate. Appreciate your input.
