Inventory Holding Cost Rate input into IO optimizer

The Supply Planning team is using the same Inventory Holding Cost Rate key figure using a custom business process for maintaining it as the Inventory Holding Cost Rate used for input into IO. I was wondering is there a way to exclude Inventory Holding Cost as input into IO other than using a different version? We cannot change the process that Supply is using to maintain that field and IO would like to not use Inventory Holding Cost Rate as input to IO. IO would also like to not use a different version but that's the only workaround I can think of.

Thanks,

Melanie

Hello Melanie,

the Inventory Holding Cost Rate key figure is a required input for the Multi-stage Inventory Optimization operator. Part of the goal of IBP for Inventory is to minimize inventory cost and in order to determine the cost, the holding cost rate key figure is a required input.

Hi Melanie,

One option I can think of is Null out Inventory Holding Cost rate before running IO Operator and populate it back before running Supply Planning Operator. I know this is not perfect way, but this is one of the way without creating a new version.

Hello Melanie,

As per my information... IO algorithm uses Inventory Holding Cost at request level & Supply algorithm refers same cost at base planning level.

Please try to use Null value at request level & specify required values for supply at base planning level of Inventory Holding Cost Rate KF. Please test this out & let us know if this helps.

Thanks,

Neeraj
