decentral/additional adapter engine PI 7.5

Hi Experts,

We have around 120 interfaces running on our current set up , expecting another 100 interfaces to be created from different vendors and business scenarios.

I wanted to understand if there is an option to deploy another adapter engine in the set up and make ICO objects for the new 100 interfaces using this adapter engine?

If yes , does it help in load balancing / what additional configuration will be required and how can the additional adapter engine be deployed?

pls share your thoughts

Dear Ravi,

1. Decentral adapter engine is in use once you have other needs to run the non-central Adapter Engine(s) on a different release or SP level compared to the central PI hub.You can add a non-central Adapter Engine to your PI system, see SAP note 1916146 - Version interoperability of distributed PI/PO landscapes. If there are same scenario working on non-central Adapter Engine and central Adapter Engine, then it help in load balancing.

2. If your purpose is for load balancing, then you just need to install additional adapter engine. For more details, you can refer to below link:

https://help.sap.com/viewer/5cf7d2de571a45cc81f91261668b7361/7.4.19/en-US

3. You can mass create scenario as per KBA

hallo

did you already found an answer?

I`m looking for similar szenario. Decentral Advanced Adapter Engine (dec-ADE) in a DMZ. 1. Is it possilbe to run multiple dec-AAE in a DMZ with a Loadbalancer?
2. Is it possilbe to run multiple dec-AAE in a tow DMZ with a Loadbalancer (a kind of simple HA)?
Remark: the 2 DMZ have ca. 500km distance. Best RegardsG.M

Thanks Ray,

The link to install additional adapter engine seems to be for a dual stack implementation as the additonal adapter engine will call the integrations server.. we are on single stack PI 7.5 so not sure if we can use that approach using it as java proxy mode .

However , for my requirement here I want all the new interfaces to go through the new adapter engine keep the central adapter engine undisturbed with the 120 interfaces running as is..

Can this be done? is it feasible ? may be its like an additional PI system altogether but using the same resources
