Hello Team,
I have a BI client who decided to change the IP address of the HANA server I was connected to and the organisation's domain name. The issue is that whiles I can see that change of name reflected in the CMC, it has not on the session name. I deleted and recreated the session but it picks the old name. How can I get the new domain name to reflect?
Now I think I understand what you need.
The configuration is saved in the "dialog_settings.xml" under the directory
C:\Users\<windows users>\.businessobjects\bimodeler_14\workspace\.metadata\.plugins\com.businessobjects.bimodeler.shared
Just edit it and replace the old name with the new one (in the entire XML file).
Very important:
* Make sure you close IDT first and make a copy of the XML file.
* Configuration is per user
ex: OLD
New

Hello Ayman,
We want to be able to change the session name from the old (old-server-name.png) to the new server name (NCA-SAP-BI-VM.corp.nca.org.gh).

in IDT,
for existing local projects, edit the .cnx connection, make change, test connection, save.
or if you have .cns, choose change connection, and choose the modified connection from the Repository.

If I understand your question correctly, each connection must be edited and changed with new connection data.
If you made the connection change in the repository (CMS), you should replace any existing connection in the local project with the corresponding modified connection from the repository (CMS).
