Kernel Upgrade

Good Morning/Afternoon,

It has been quite awhile since I've upgraded a kernel. Things have definitely changed. What parts do I need to download to upgrade the kernel to the latest version?

Hi Michael.

Still the kernel dependent and independent part. Please check SAP Note 19466 for all information.
For detailed information on the kernel version you can also simply do a Notes search to get information about the version and maybe some restrictions and known issues.

Hi Michael,
As mentioned, details given on Note 19466 - Downloading SAP kernel patches

On SAP Support Portal, you should select the required kernel version, and then select the operating system.
To update your kernel completely, you you must download the patches from both directories: "Database independent" (SAPEXE.SAR) and database-specific kernel patches (SAPEXEDB.SAR).
