Workflow using today's date

Dear Experts,

As per my requirement, I want to trigger a notification for all Opportunities of status Open/Close on the day next to the close date of Opportunity. Using schedule option i could able to trigger the notification.

But once the employee extend the Close date of Opportunity then the notication should be cancelled.

Please advice how can we achieve this.

Ideally workflow will trigger notification for every save, if it sees the conditions are meeting , so you cannot cancel the notifications from triggering.

Nevertheless , from my understanding you are trying to notify the user that the close date is lapsed via this notifications. So instead of notification, you an try using the workflow of type email , where in you have the option of marking the Always Send E-Mail as NO, so that this will send only for the first time and not upon every subsequent save for this object.
