Backup before SAP BOIS Patch upgrade

Hi All,

Can someone please advise if any backup is required before SAP BOIS patch upgrade and how to rollback it to previous patch in case of any issue.

In our case repository backups are taken on weekly basis by DBA team, apart from repository backup do we need to take any other backup?

Can it be done by CMC-->promotion management?

Below are the BOIS version/patch we are using currently and about to move.

Currently using Upgrading to

CMC (IPS) 4.2 SP5 P1 CMC (IPS) 4.2 SP6

Information steward 4.2 SP10 P1 Information steward 4.2 SP11 P1

Note: We are using MS SQL Server database for repositories.

Do a full system backup. Freeze all during IS patch installation. Restore full backup when something has gone wrong.
