How does AfO present / create a BW hierarchy?

Hi Experts!

We are currently replacing BEx with AfO 2.7. We have a BEx workbook with big results, 2 merged hierarchies on the rows. With VBA the results are merged, split into subsets (according to a special logic based on the hierarchy level) and written into several workbooks, which are sent to specific cost center responsibles. I know, this is old school :-). But the recipients do not have a BW user account and they do not want to have one.

BEx works with indent levels to present the hierarchy nodes (levels). This can easily be identified and processed with VBA.

But I do not understand, how AfO produces the hierarchy structure in Excel. There is no indent level! And I could not find any property that explains, how the hierarchy nodes are positioned.

Has anyone any idea, how AfO manages/presents BW hierarchies?

Each feedback is very appreciated!

Thanks in advance,

Alex
