ATC result overview: "..." shown instead of variable in Check Message

Hello,

I noticed that any variable content in an ATC check message is being replaced with "..." in the ATC results overview.

Examples:

Select-Statement can be transformed. ...% of fields used

Large table ...: No first field of a table index in WHERE condition

Call Executable Program ...

In the details of each ATC finding, the description of the ATC finding shows the variable content for the "...". For example

"Large table ...: No first field of a table index in WHERE condition"

becomes

"Large table <table name>: No first field of a table index in WHERE condition"

This is a bit unlucky if there are several ATC findings of the same ATC check. You have to go through all of them to find the ATC finding you were looking at because you can't distinguish them in the ATC results overview, only in the details tab/view.

Can someone tell me if this is a bug in our system or if this is desired behavior? I suspect this is a technical limitation of ATC.

Hi Clemens,

it's certainly not your system/setup as this is how the results are shown for us as well. We are on NW 750 SP13 for the satellite and NW752 for the central ATC system.

So, even if this is perhaps not the "desired behaviour" it's at least the "expected behaviour" from what I can tell.

Perhaps olga.dolinskaja or thomasfiedler can provide some input whether or not this is possible to change so that the details are also shown in the ATC results overview?

thank you for sharing your experience with this feature. At least it's not a technical issue on our side. I'm looking forward the response of olga.dolinskaja or thomasfiedler, if this is possible. I think this could be a tiny but good usability improvement for ATC.

According to SAP, the "..." in the overview are shown for performance reasons. There's no configuration to change this and it's not planned to be configurable in the future.
