SAP Business ByDesign and growing boms

Hi,

We need some solution for a customer who does plant construction.

Therefore he has changing BOMs during the production process - while the production ( or at least the procurement) is already started.

Do you see any solution in SAP Business ByDesign to handle this?

Hi Klaus,

If the input materials for a production operation are not fixed (or not part of the initial BoM), and if this differs from each Production Order, then you can add/remove the required products directly during the production task confirmation. Let me know if this works for you.

Please send to me more information ( links where I can find it ) for integration of CAD ( SolidWorks ) and ByD ( ProducDegign ) ? I need to know Web Service name or some more info how do do this integration. Currently I have export file ( XML format ) form SolidWorks and want to integrate this information in ByD ( ProducDesign ) . Best RegardsKalin Damianov

Hi Klaus,

In the case of having an external CAD system that provides updated BoM, you can look forward to integrating ByD with CAD to facilitate seamless data transfer between system.

At present, there are standard web services available for the integration.

Dear Sathya,

thank you for your answer.

The point is, that in this kind of production the whole production order needs to be updated automatically from a changed BOM comming from the CAD.

All already done comittments need to stay at the production order (and tasks).

At this point ByD is really extremely unflexible.
