Legacy asset transfer - asset that were retired during FY

Hi All

We want to transfer legacy asset that were retired during FY. Also golive date is in middle of FY, and system is S4H 1809 version.

What should be approach to transfer legacy asset that were retired during FY ?

1) Should we migrate asset without retirement and then perform Tcode ABAON with back date in 'asset value date' ?

2) We are using BAPI_FIXEDASSET_OVRTAKE_CREATE to migrate legacy asset. Is it possible to perform retirement using this BAPI itself ? There is a field of "Transaction type" in this BAPI. If I pass TType 210 (Retirement with revenue ), will it help ?

Please suggest. I searched existing forum discussions but did not find conclusive answer, hence I am posting this query.

Hello Kapil,

Retiring the same asset in S/4HANA again will make duplicate postings in SAP FI if the asset is already retired in the Legacy system.

You can take only active assets to the S/4HANA system as the retired assets financials are already posted in Legacy. OR Try with zero values to migrate.
