Record Inspection Results Fiori App - How to add unplanned characteristics

We are working on enhancing the Record Inspection Results app to allow the addition of unplanned characteristics to the results recording screen. In working with the developer we noticed that there is an AddCharacteristics view available in the app, but we do not know how to call it.

Can the AddCharacteristics.view.xml file be called from the app? And if so, how?

This feature is still not supported by this Fiori app, but it is in the roadmap for future improvements.

Hello! We are on S4HANA 1909. And add characteristic feature still doesn't work. POST request goes from fiori client to backend, backend returns success but no new characteristics added. Is that feature supposed to be working in latest S4HANA release? I searched for notes, found only this one 2827644, but it's already part of our code basis.
