Hello Experts ,

Could you share some of your experience or suggestions on the scenario were in would like to transfer the solution documentation from one Solution Manager 7.2 system of a landscape to another Solution Manager 7.2 . Will the export option in the soladm used for exporting a particular branch and specific documents alone . And then while import of this export data will over right the branch in another solution Manager ? for example I have branch by name development in both the systems will this be overwritten ?

We are on Solution Manager 7.2 Sp06 ,

Have already checked this link but this does not give the right steps on the export of Solution Documentation.

Under SOLADM / SLAN you use the Import / Export actions to perform the export of the BPH.

Yes it’s possible .. you have to use export and import options according to relevant business processes. Answer is marked in the thread for your reference link shared by andre on how to export and import .

Hi Saikumar,

I think your main concern is that will your existing branch be overwritten , as you have the same name . In my experience , no they will be merged if you use export/import.

However for the sake of "cleanliness", you should create a sibling development branch and import into this. To keep it neat and tidy . Then you can merge them into a higher branch with proper analysis .

To play safe , you can always backup your target development branch , once again by export functionality

Hi,

your link is concerning document exchange related to the content activation (7.1 --> 7.2).

Don't know if it's feasible but you can look into the import best practices functionality and maybe reuse components.

Basically you export to .JSON-file and import it.
