SMP Push Notifications

Hi,

I am trying to implement GCM PUSH Notifications using SMP.

Steps done:

1. API Key and Sender ID added to PUSH tab in application.

2. Registered on SMP and then Registered for GCM Token.

3. Registered GCM token on SMP.

After that i try to send GCM Push Notification using Rest Client using URL:

http://<SMP Server IP>:8080/Notification/<APPCID>

But i still dont receive notification on my android device.

Server log shows following:

#2.0#2016-09-23 10:38:57.506#+0:00#ERROR#Notification###Push#1474627137499004#1467e798-3d20-4b53-a740-d52cd6aba2d1##com.sap.mobile.platform.server.notifications.gcm.handler.GCMNotificationDelegate:getNonSAPGatewayNotification########21268###No data to be pushed to device#

I have opened ports 5228,5229,5230,5223 for incoming connection but the same have not been opened for outgoing connection.

Can this be an issue?

Need some urgent help to solve this issue.

    Hello Nikhil,

    Check whether you have mentioned senderID in your index.html file of application, if not try once by adding as a parameter in registerForPush() method.

    Also, change url http://<SMP Server IP>:8080/Notification/<APPCID> you are passing from rest client to http://host:port/restnotification/application/APPCID.

    When you post a request from rest client, in response you should get status as 201 created and value in response of the registration id as "ok" for getting push notification on device

    for ex:

    "results": [

    {

    "status": {

    "value": "OK",

    "code": 0

    },

    "registrationId": "(registrationID)"

    },

    Hope it will be helpful for you.

    Thanks,

      Hi Kalyani,

      When I hit the notification URL i get 201 Created status.

      Also I get a message as : Notification submitted for processing.

      Still I dont get any notification on my device.

      Payload:

      {

      "to":"/topics/Sandeep",

      "data":{

      "message":"Nikhil"

      }

      }

      Does payload seem to be right?
