Client Copy with big clients

Hi Experts,

I have a SAP System with a client with 4TB in size.

I need copy of this client to another client in other system but in tcode Scc8 is impossible because is too large.

Do you need any idea?

Hi ,

can do a database redirect restore method like our friend here mentioned, OR if you can get enough downtime, then can do a remote client copy with SCC9. As per your concern about SCC8 impossible, its actually not impossible, it will finish also neatly just the thing is that it might require some more extra time than your imagination.

For the restore method, you did not mention any database. So, for example, for my DB2 in PRD, I will have a restore-script created & take a offline backup & then after modifying the script will restore that PRD Backup on the QAS system

Hi Fernanda,

As mentioned 4TB client copy processing must access a large amount of data and this leads to long runtimes.

So, database copy (Backup and Restore) is preferable way to proceed.
