Analysis for Microsoft Excel is slow at start-up (for a limited number of users)

Problem: A limited group of end-users (let's  say 1 out of 10) experiences  problems when opening Analysis for office. When Excel (with add-in) has  started:
Ø File  > Analysis  >  Open workbook  (from Netweaver platform)..
Ø Untill prompt for source system might take several minutes (5+)

Threads  similar:
- http://scn.sap.com/thread/3855881 which describes  the same problem, but no working solution offered.

What it is NOT:
- Occurring when opening a  particular workbook.
- A problem solved by Note: 2076788 (which gives a solution for too many styles in a workbook)

Anyone experienced this and having a solution?

Hi Reinier,

Can you check with RAM of the system used? It is a known issue with particular version of AO, it is fixed with a patch later on.

Thanks Tammy and Sowjanya,

....It appeared that the end-user was stil on AO 1.4.... We wil first upgrade to 2.2, and then we will see if the problem is still present. (in 2.2 the profiling can also be analysed for the client, this would be the next step)

Which version of Analysis Office are you using? Which version of Excel?  Have you turned on profiling as outlined here by Sowjanya?
