MRP Strategy '52' - Demand not flowing from Finished good to Sub assembly/ components

Hi,

I have a requirement where client don't want to produce finished good until the actual sales order comes but at the same time they want to produce the semi finished good and procure the raw materials in advance (to reduce the lead time). (its a make to stock production but only thing they want to start production for FG only once they receive the sales order and they don't want to hard allocate the stock to a particular sales order after production (Like in Make to Order)

Now for this I have used Planning strategy "52" for my finished good, where i entered the forecast at FG level. I used planning strategy "40" at sub assembly and raw material level.

Now after MRP run, i am getting the planned order for FG with order type "VP" (Independent requirement) which is correct (as system won't allow to convert the planned order to production order until the sales order come).

But the problem is, the demad is not flowing to the sub assembly and the component level. There is no dependent requirement is passed below.

Is there any configuration that I am missing to get the dependent requirement flow to all the sub assembly level and the raw material levels?

Just to brief again:

Material         MRP strategy used

FERT                         52

HALB                         40

ROH                          40

PIR loaded for FERT with requirement type "VSE"

Any help will be appreciated.

Thanks,

AK

Hi,

Please check MRP type of components.

Hi,

It should flow. You should maintain Individual/collective indicator as 1 for HALB and ROH.

And No need to maintain MRP strategy for HALB and ROH.

Hi Jatin,

Thanks for your reply.

But I think individual/ collective indicator should be maintained as "2" as I don't want to produce the sub assemblies specific to a particular requirement. It should be clubbed and give me a consolidated figure.

Any other thoughts.

Thanks,

Ashish !!

Hello

AS per my understanding there is no need to maintain the Planning Strategy for HALB and ROH and you can go with the Individual/coll Indicator as 2.

Try to run the MRP with planning mode as 3  - delete and recreate Planning data.

Check also if any plant stock is available for the materials

Also share the  screen shot of MD04 for HALB and ROH

Hello

It sees that you have a problem with the BOM explosion. Please check the points mentioned on the following document:
