Hi Suresh,

If you're talking about system conversion then sure it does support from R/3 on DB2 to S/4HANA, but you'll have to upgrade to ERP 6.0 release first.

If you just want to perform application data migration, then I suggest you to check out the rapid data migration solution for S/4HANA, which is based on SAP Data Server 4.2 SP5 and above.

For the up coming release 1610, there's a build in data migration tool available called "migration cockpit", basically it will generate a spreadsheet and you can fill up the data, then upload into the system, the tool also going to some data validation checks, there's a YouTube video about this tool.

Hi Suresh,

You can consider to upgrade your existing system on DB6 to S/4HANA using DMO of SUM. For more information, please refer to 2257362 - Database Migration Option (DMO) of SUM 1.0 SP17.

Dear Suresh,

ECC and S/4 HANA are different products. S/4 has several new funcionalities that should be analyzed in the project planning phase. It's not like the regular (EHPs) upgrades we are used to. There is a simplification list to consider and many other requisites to be match. A good start is to check S/4 HANA presentation in the link below. In the session "The Road to SAP S/4 HANA" will find the milestones and relevant SAP Notes for your planning and should help with your doubts.
