Hi Daniel.

1. Yes, you have to perform the dual stack split during the time of  upgrade process as mention in the SAP Solman upgrade guide.

2.  You can search in Google there are so many links about the SAP Solution Manager Upgrade. Kindly refer the SAP Solman upgrade guide

Hi Daniel,

Dual stack split is mandatory step, it is on you when to perform before upgrade or after upgrade. It is recommended to perform it before upgrade.

Have you thought of installing Solution manager 7.2 instead of upgrading the existing one. Why I say this is because you will have to perform all the configuration again in upgraded system

Check below mentioned sap note.

Hi Prithiviraj,

I am planning to upgrade the existing 7.1 SP14 solman system.

What is the latest SP level for 7.2?

Is it best practice to split the dual stack before upgrade itself...both the SID's will be same or should be different?...Can we have keep them on the same host..

Please give me some guide/links for performing dual split for solman 7.1

Thanks in advance

Sorry, I haven't looked at it past the SP version.

I will look at it seriously in December, hopefully SP4 will be out and maybe deploy SP5 next spring into PRD.

As for the split, My friend did it, wasn't a huge deal apparently.

If you find any good content on upgrading, please share
