Unable to change the Payroll area

Hi Experts,

I recently ran  Transfer action for an employee and wrongly updated Payroll area.

I observed it later and while I try to update it is showing the error message that " The current payroll area XX is inconsistent  with  the default value YY "

I have to change the  cureent payroll area XX ( Semi monthtly ) to YY (Monthly).

Could you please advice me to resolve the issue.

also check whether the payroll run has been completed in any of the payroll area already

also check what the feature ABKRS is doing

what happens if we delete the transfer action & rerun the same transfer action again and update them?

Hi Team,

As mentioned earlier, the updation of Payroll are is not done by Actions. It has been updated only at Organization assignment Infotype.

Later we have found that, the payroll area is wrongly updated in 0001 Infotype.

We have Payroll results with  payroll area for Period XX and Payroll area YY for period 01 2016.

And another with Reversed Regular

now We have Payroll results with  payroll area for Period YY and Payroll area YY for period 06 2016.

Finally we wish to change the payroll period as YY.

What is the best practice to have the YY payroll area.

Is it better to maintain YY payroll area by ABAP debugging mode.

What could be the consequence, If we do so.

Please advice.

my initial suggestion - no to ABAP debugging please the system might not be able to recognize the change

As far as i know, Once we execute payroll we can not change payroll area if we want to change payroll area payroll should not be executed for that period.

How to change payroll area mentioned in the earlier post but it is before payroll run.

Go to IT0001 click on overview option and select the record from list and click on Copy then give start date  and then change payroll area.

Note - Payroll area can not be changed in the middle of the month.
