Dear Gurus,
I am installing Solution Manager 7.2 ABAP using Oracle database.
During create database phase, I got below error:
In C:\Program Files\sapinst_instdir\SOLMAN72SR1\SOLMAN72SR1\ORA\INSTALL\STD\ABAP\oradim.log , it shows:
Enter password for Oracle service user: Instance created.
DIM-00019: create service error
O/S-Error: (OS 1069) The service did not start due to a logon failure.
Then, I manually enter SAPServiceSMP password in services.msc
The service started successfuly,
But, when I resume the installation, it throws another error:
DIM-00019: create service error
O/S-Error: (OS 1073) The specified service already exists.
Please help.
Thanks
Regards,
Fadzly Iqbal

Hi Yuskel,
oradim -delete OracleServiceSMP gives:
DIM-00003: An argument is missing for the parameter.
Therefore, I use oradim -DELETE -SRVC OracleServiceSMP as per Oradim not able to create service which is marked as deletion instead
Before:
After:
Then, I restarted the server and continue the installation. But, it will give error:
Enter password for Oracle service user: Instance created.
DIM-00019: create service error
O/S-Error: (OS 1069) The service did not start due to a logon failure.
If I manually insert the correct password in services.msc and resume the installation, it will give back error:
DIM-00019: create service error
O/S-Error: (OS 1073) The specified service already exists.
Thanks

Hello Iqbal,
I came across same issue few weeks back, we tried all the above options like manually entered password and deleted the service, but none of them worked.
Finally we started the sapinst with Skip on error parameter, it bypassed the error step and finished installation.
Before executing this ensure that the oracle service is running.
Ex: sapinst.exe SAPINST_SKIP_ERRORSTEP=true
choose continue with old installation
Thanks,
Prem
