SET articles in Stock Transfer Orders

Dear Experts,

Our client has implemented SAP IS Retail along with SAP R/3 WM.

Client has now proposed to have SET articles business process set-up.

The scenario is as below:

Master data: SET article (say) "SOFA"  is created with components "CHAIR" and "CENTRE TABLE"

Stock at DC (warehouse): Stock is available at component level i.e. CHAIR and CENTRE TABLE. Stock is null for SOFA.

Process flow:

1. Stores (Site) has a requirement for SOFA article.

2. A replenishment stock transfer order is created for DC to supply the SOFA article.

3. Outbound delivery is created for SOFA article.

Now since Outbound delivery is created for SET (SOFA) , WM transfer order can only be created for SET as per my understanding.

But since no stock is available for SET, transfer order cannot be created.

Can you please guide if there is a way in WM to create Transfer orders for components even if they dont appear in outbound delivery for STO?

The process that should follow is

Process flow:

1. Stores (Site) has a requirement for SOFA article.

2. A replenishment stock transfer order is created for DC to supply the SOFA article. BOM for SET article (Sofa) should explode into components in the STO. This can be configured in SPRO under logistic General --> Material Master->TRetail specific setting-> Setting for structured material -> Structurd Article for  logistic Process.

3. Outbound delivery is created for SOFA article. Only for the components outbound delivery will be created now.

Thanks for the response.

We have already tried this option and unfortunately could not meet the requirement with this setup

The explosion of SET does happen in STO but the components do not flow into outbound delivery.

This behavior is may be due to no shipping tab available for components in STO but i am not sure.

I referred below thread and it seems that this is standard.

Hi Mayuresh

Yes, If you have't activated STO with shipping then it won't require delivery and shipment. It can directly be processed using 351and 101 movements. It will be then saperate issue not with the SET.

I am sorry if i was not clear.

The STO is set up with shipping. And the SET article does flow into the outbound delivery but the components wont. Since, components wont flow into outbound delivery, WM transfer order cannot be created for picking in warehouse.

HI,

The Post goods issue for outbound delivery did not issue the components because , you have to configure the bom explosion value as  "1" in the spro -> LG->mat master -> retail specific settings -> structured articles in logistics processes .

value should be 10 - sales set , A and also for B , 1 explode bom .

In sofa article MM43 , if you click on the components you should see chair table etc .Then check the bom in CS03 as well .  Let's us know if you face issues .Also make sure your sub item (components ) item category determination is maintained for delivery type.

These settings are already in place.

As you rightly said,the article document created after PGI has the components as well.

My question is, how do i bring components in Outbound delivery?

We want to create WM transfer order for components for picking with reference to outbound delivery.

Is there any alternative to create transfer orders for components without having them in outbound delivery?

HI Mayuresh,

Sorry , there is no way the components can into the delivery order with subitem line breakup and Transfer order for picking in WM. I gave it a check myself and checked our internal notes as well.This is declared by SAP AGS as a missing functionality and cannot be used. This is because if you GR with that delivery number you will have the components entering the site rather than the sales set .

For Info : The sto sub items are maked with delivery completed indicator and also marked free item  to accommodate the sales set article .

Alternately, I was wondering if you could try this with a single article(category 00)   with a bom structure(CS01) only for DC and mark item category for header article as LUMF in basic and sales views .

I will try and check for alternates from end as well .

Thank you for your input.

I tried the other option by preparing BOM through CS01.

Unfortunately this as well does not work in STO.

Can you please help to know the Note number where SAP has provided information on this functionality as missing?

I have been searching but found no notes that directly mention this.
