HCI - Configurable HCI standard content to editable

Former Member

Hello All,

I have a requirement to edit the iflow of the standard HCI content .As I am unable to edit it in HCI tool.I exported it to eclipse mars and changed the manifest of the project to 'Editable' replacing ConfigurableOnly and I am able to edit the iflow and I have enhanced the standard content successfully.

After deploying the new project to HCI , I tried to edit the content as it is made to editable in manifest and I can see most of the steps in iflow can be edited except the XSLT mappings in the flow and because of this it is throwing the below message and not even the pallet is not displaying.

Please help how to completely make the configurable content to editable?

Regards,

Tibin

Hello Tibin

There is no way to edit XSLT mapping in webui.

Webui is not completely in sync with the features of Eclipse Tooling.

If you take an example of Exception sub process, currently it's available in eclipse but not in webui. When you import any iflows to Webui which are having above mentioned steps you will get the notification as per your screenshot making Iflow uneditable.

For Changing XSLT you have to go with Eclipse Tooling only there is no way to do it in Webui as of now.

Hoping SAP going to add these missing steps to webui and make it completely editable soon.

I'm really looking forward to feature parity between WebUI and Eclipse as well. It is coming, but as of now, there are still quite a few gaps.

Hello Tibin and Mark

I think i have to correct myself.I can see Exception Sub process available in WEBUI now in the latest version which got updated few days back:)

Above statement is correct wrt to XSLT mapping now.!

That's cloud software in a nutshell 🙂 I hadn't noticed, that the exception subprocess is now available in WebUI. Very nice.

Hello Sriprasad and Morten,

Thanks for your information.I am editing the standard content to satisfy the client requirement ( lot many look ups included using content enricher steps). Yes...the updates from SAP will not apply to my edited scenario .I can say now it become custom scenario 🙂 .

Hi Tibin

Also, be aware that if you edit the standard content, you will no longer receive updates for it.

Hi Morten,

What is the best practice then if we want to update the content that has been edited to the latest version? Let's say we used and edited the 1605 version (now with custom fields and mapping) and the new 1702 iFlow contains updates that we want to use. Is there an automatic way to merge them so we can keep our existing mapping plus the latest updates from 1702?

Hi Mark

No, there's no option to merge.
