Dear all,
I confused, is it possible to repform backup MaxDb directly on tape using NetBackup 7.5? or not? Or where can i check it?
Yes its possible. 1st you need to set the environment variables accordingly & follow couple of steps. For you to get started, using the documents like,
http://www.yorku.ca/unixteam/files/unprotected/NetBackup/Doc/NetBackup_AdminGuide_SAP_Win.pdf
http://origin-symwisedownload.symantec.com/resourc
es/sites/SYMWISE/content/live/SOLUTIONS/38000/TECH38335/en_US/276336.pdf
https://www-secure.symantec.com/connect/forums/net
backup-sap-maxdb-database-configuration
https://vox.veritas.com/t5/NetBackup/NetBackup-for-SAP-on-a-MaxDB-database-configuration/td-p/734844
MaxDB 7.6 and NetBackup (Veritas) | SCN
Maxdb - Backup - Netbackup | SCN
Hope that the above steps helps. Also in MaxDB database studio through also you can be able to backup directly on tape by mentioning the backup location as the tape-drive.
Thanks,
Kaushik

Hi Albert,
Maxdb has interface to back up to tape. However since you will be using netbackup as a backint to do this, to be sure please consult netbackup vendor to confirm and test.
Best regards,
James
