Wrong Start Profile

Hi,

We've copied a Linux SAP system (OS Copy) from a hosted environment to a cloud server.

SAP starts well on the new cloud server...however, it uses the Start profile of the original on premise server.

If we rename this profile, SAP fails to start.

We've tried updating the "services" file, the hosts file etc. & checked all over to find what's causing this...but to no avail so far

Are we missing something here ?

Please help advise...

Thanks a lot !

saba.

Hello,

We've copied a Linux SAP system (OS Copy) from a hosted environment to a cloud server.

Have you followed an official SAP guide to perform this copy? It sounds like "no"...

Has the (physical) hostname of the (new) server been changed?

You have mentioned the "services" file. Is this the "/etc/services" file?

What about the "sapservices" file mentioned by Anil (/usr/sap/sapservices)?

Cheers!

Hello,

As you have mention you have already adapted the sapservice file in location /usr/sap/

Once you have updated the services file, you need to restart instance service which is run by SAPCONTROL.

Restart the service by using SAPCONTROL command. or as you instance is still not started you can kill the running services of SAPCONTROL manually by using os kill command.

Once all service has been killed, try to start SAP again.
