Firstly, kudos to SAP for making express edition available.
I was able to download the server only edition and make it run on my local desktop. But I face issues while downloading Server + Applications. The download reaches 100% and I can see 8 parts of 1 GB files hxexsa.001 to hxexsa.008 but the hxexsa.ova file is not created and the download manager shows a message that says the download is failed.
I can change the location of the download and retry but just wanted to find out if anyone has faced the same issue and overcome it?
Kind Regards
Mohan
Hi Mohanraj - we have heard a couple of reports of this on the larger downloads if they were somehow interrupted (eg. poor Internet connection, etc). I would recommend renaming or deleting the hxexsa.00# files and then try it again. Without doing this step, it will just try to work with the existing hxexsa.00# files and there's obviously an issue with them in your case (that is leading to the failure). Hope that helps.
Regards, Mike

Hi Mike - I tried again by specifying a new folder for download and it failed again. And about the internet disruption, my download got stopped couple of times and I had to restart the download manager and it started from where it was left. Do you recommend that this download should happen without any interruption?
Hello again Mohanraj - we are investigating issues with interrupted downloads. Although it should be able to resume where it left off, we're finding cases where that's not happening. So to answer your question - yes, an uninterrupted download is best. Ensure you remove any .00? files and re-start with hopefully an uninterrupted download. If you want the "server+apps VM", an alternative is to download the binary installer method and install both the server and apps (along with the optimize script). This should give you the same configuration as the VM. Meanwhile, we will continue to investigate these issues which may lead to an updated download manager.
Regards,
Mike
