Hi

We have finished migrating all non-bpm scenarios from PI7.01 to PO.  Now we need to start with ccBPM interfaces to NW-BPM.

Please clarify the following.

1. How do I check whether all related components of BPM/BRM are installed in my PO system. How do I check whether all are under same SID in PO?

2. What is the first step to access BPM, do I need to download NWDS and if so, should it be downloaded and connected with company server or can I download it in my own instance and communicate?

3. Do I need to install eclipse for this?

4. Please guide on steps to understand or perform CC-BPM to NW-BPM.

Regards

Sam

Hi

I can find the JDK version as jdk16.

NW731ext_16_rel with SP 11.

I am still unable to find the JVM. Although, checking Gaurav tip shows me the following.

sapjvm_6.  Does it mean mine is jdk16 and sapjvm_6? if so, please advise which NWDS should I be using.

Hello Sam,

If you check the link you can easily get it.

Go to NWA->troubleshooting->System  information

Based on the value there you can download eclipse based on that.

Hi Sam,

JVM version you can check /nwa/sysinfo.

Based on your PI version you need to download 7.31 SP16 NWDS, if your patch level is zero the you can download the below version.

After downloading above NWDS you need to download JDK 1.6 32 bit from oracle and install in your system.

Praveen.

Thanks for the links and screenshots.

Sorry to be naïve on this, but am I right in assuming that my version does not have any patches.

The integration builder shows service pack 11. Am not sure where to check whether any patch is installed.

Hi Sam,

You can see it in system information for patch level. So after 7.40 is PI version, 9 is service pack, 51 is patch level.

Praveen.

Praveen

I went into the 731 link and tried selecting the distribution.

There are two, one for external distribution and another for updatesite.

I assume I need to download first external distribution and then the update site one.

External distribution: 8.31.1600000.150402102025  SP16  PAT0000

Following this, I have downloaded the updatesite you mentioned.

Please confirm

Hello

All the links specifies that I need to download the correct NWDS based on my JDK and JVM version.

How do I check both JDK and JVM in PO?

Hi Sam,

The best way to check the java version is goto /usr/sap/<SID>/<instance>/j2ee/cluster .... you will have a instance.properties file here ... check in this file ... you can find the correct java version being used by your java stack.

Gaurav

Hi Sam,

Open Administration in Main page.

  • PO 7.4 based on JDK 1.6 so you must install 32 bit version of JDK as it is only supported.

https://nwds.sap.com/swdc/downloads/updates/netweaver/nwds/nw/731/doc/prerequisites.html

  • JDK version
  • Supported Java Development Kit (JDK) are from SAP AG or Oracle.Note that the JDK you use must be the 32-bit version. You can either use:
    • JDK provided with the SAP JVM 6 "Windows Server on IA32 32-bit".
You can start the installation process from here.
    • JDK from Oracle.
You need JDK version 1.6 (1.6.0_7 or higher), 32-bit. You can download a JDK from http://java.sun.com/javase/downloads.
  • Note that for deployable applications, the JDK version of the Developer Studio must be the same as the JVM version of your application server.

Regards,

Praveen.

Thanks, but still it doesn't answer where to find my JVM version.

Is my assumption right on the instance properties file given by Gaurav ?

Can I presume it is sapjvm_6?

Hello

I still need an answer for the below one.

1. Where should I download NWDS? Can it be locally downloaded into my personal laptop and design and import back to my company PI?

2. We are using citrix to access my company PI server? Should the NWDS be downloaded into my company infrastructure?

3. How to check my JVM and download the JDK ? Again should it be local installation or in the company infrastructure?

Please aadvise

Sam,

If you are able to access your PI server through NWDS  from  your local desktop if not then you have to do it on your Remote desktop.

Check the JDK version of your remote desktop and use the correct NWDS as mentioned in below blog :

I shared that NWDS link already which has the right version and all.

One more link fo NWDS download

@Manoj I shared it in my first reply only.

And one more point if u develop in your NWDS locally the developments cant be moved to other NWDS.

You need do to in NWDI to see it across.

Hello Raghu

I already know that my version of PI is single stack. Am trying to find whether it is PO or PI single stack only.

PI single stack is without BRM/BPM

PO single stack is for all. So how do I know whether the components related are installed.
