Launch Pad opens up one app all the time

Hello Experts,

I have configured couple of custom apps in the launch pad. Each app(s) has been created as a separate catalog and attached to separate PFCG roles. All the apps are configured in the same launch pad role. component.js is being used in all the apps and has been configured in the launch pad role.

When the launch pad is launched the tiles are being displayed based on the roles. Clicking the tile always open the same application. When i remove the corresponding PFCG role for the user the same behavior happens with a different app. So its like no matter what combination i try to have the launch pad all the tiles opens up only one application.

You suggestion would be greatly appreciated.

Dear All,

Issue fixed. The problem was cause because we where using the same semantic object for all the apps. As a fix we gave unique action names for the action in the tile and the target mapping ( e.g. displayAP, displayBB etc ).

Alternately, we could also create different semantic object for different apps I was told that SAPs recommendation is also the same.

Hi ,

Its not PFCG Roles, Its, I think, happening for all of your users. So, you need to check-out correspondance parameters in RZ10, Might be sessions set to max. 1 value, so need to increase in there

I also think of using Firefox for this purpose as mentioned in the below,

Hello Kaushik,

rdisp/max_alt_modes is set to 6. But multiple logon is disabled. Also the URL that I am using is HTTP and not HTTPS. HTTPS url returns connection error.

How about the parameter for max no of sessions, that I provided the all parameters details page?

Also need to check the SICF for configuration changes, was wondering was it happening from the beginning or recent changes made this matter or its a new install in your company?

In general, system Parameter changes we can run in OS level by using

SAPPFPAR pf=<path of the Instance Profile>

Or may be you can start searching on CL_AI_CACHE_HTTP_GUI

I would be interested in hearing what would happen if you enable the multiple login(it includes restart of system).

It also looks like your problem is already there in SCN in the below,

So, Please do check all the above 3 links & correct if not set properly. Even your type of given screenshot is also included in them.

I changed the Tile to URL based and assigned some websites to it ( ndtv and google ). Still the same behavior persists. I also noticed it always opens the last created tile. Could there be some cache issue?

Hi ,

This kind of issues can only occur in IE, could you check using Mozilla Firefox as the default browser as Firefox is more compatible with UI5.

Generally in most browsers, they have option to keep in mind the last browsing page, which in IE shows as Go to the Last Session or say your browser crashed, it opens. However, you can set the homepage of browser as Blank page ( In IE Use Blank Button ). Luckily in IE, in Content tab, there is a Clear SSL state Button. Anyways, it looks like you are using Google Chrome, so please do have a check by using other browsers too because Chrome adopts the access level by copying from IE only, whereas Firefox is independent.

Can you post screen shots of the tile and target mapping properties of one of the apps from the launchpad designer? Also post screen shot of the corresponding app's properties from your launchpad in LPD_CUST.
