How to change cycle count from quant to bin selections

Currently we are using cycle count process at the quant level. I would like to change it to bin level. I cannot find documentation explaining how to make the change in configuration. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Best regards,

Karla

In customizing you only only allow or restrict the usage of cycle count in a storage type, but which kind of cycle count you do is nothing else than a transaction, so just use LX26 instead of LICC.

Cycle Counting Inventory - Warehouse Management System (WMS) - SAP Library

Just about every form of cycle counting in the help other than Quant level cycle counting is done at the bin level. You can try by manually creating a count document using LI01n or LX26. Depending on your setup and processes, I believe you might be able to get away with no configuration changes.

Currently quants are driving our CC (currently using LX26). Anytime a material is moved to a new bin (keeping the same storage unit) it receives a new quant and it put back in rotation for CC. We want SAP to look at the ABC assignment & bin level.

Then you would need to write your own inventory programs.

What is the reason for moving materials within a warehouse from one bin to another, this should be exceptions.

Maybe you should change to continuous inventory instead of CC as it suits more to your needs, except you have a high inaccuracy which demands CC. But the less movements a material has the less differences you probably  have, so you should try to keep the level of inner warehouse movements low.

Below is a link I found showing the different cycle counts. It doesn't appear there is config. Can you confirm?

Yes, no config changes... just use T-Code LX26, or if you want to manually manage the rotation create Inventory documents with LI01N.

the 3rd bullet point in this docu tells you where the customizing is made in WM

The other required customizing for Cycle count (the percentages and interval) has to be done in the MM path of the IMG. But this should all be already in place as you started your discussion by telling that you are using cycle count.
