BPC 10.1 Worksheet Protection

We have the typical requirement to protect data from accidental/unintended changes in an input form. As part of existing BPC AO functionality the data cell protection functionality is only allowing us to protect data cells individually but not for a data region as a whole (or complete worksheet). Cell based protection also enables end users to unlock the locked cells which in turn allows them to enter data for an unintended data region, hence is not appropriate for our requirements.
This data region functionality works perfectly in the EPM plug-in, yet with AO this does not appear to be working.

Anyone experienced anything similar?
