Fund Management - Budget Posting

Hi Anik,

I have implemented Fund Management for my client, but during Fund Plan creation system status is not getting set to released, same is the issue with funds.

Though I have released funds but in fund plan, fund status is visible as NEW.

Which is causing issue during Budget Posting with an error "Fund or funds plan status does not allow budget posting".

which are the errors you're receiving?

In this will be faster the error detection.

Thank for your reply, I have activated both business functions and have created Status profile.

Please view configuration and assist me making corrections.

Fund Plan

As soon as I select Transaction Type ZFNP system generates short dump


When I remove transaction controls for all status then I can create a Fund Plan or Fund, but unable to set system status.

During Budget Posting system is generating error 'Fund or funds plan status does not allow budget posting'.

Hi Anoop,

Once you are removing the transaction controls the system looses cognizance on what exactly is the action to be performed once the user status is set at Fund plan level. Please try the following and let me know the outcome if you can:

1. for Transaction type ZFNP please remove the reference to 'Status Profile' ZFUND and save the change

2. Try creating the Fund Plan after this in 'New' status. Save it. then release it.

Also the on the Status profile settings and configuration I don't see any issue. Probably you might have to reachout to SAP as the error seems to be standard.

Hi Prashanth,

Thank you for your assistance here, I am now able to create fund and fund plan but still there a long way to go.

By any chance do you have any configuration guide for core fund management, which could give guidance to understand step by step procedure and configuration as I am still unable to post budgets.

Hi Anoop,

Good to know that you have crossed your first hurdle. I don't think there is an BB document or configuration document available for Funds management.

To address the issues you will have to depend on SCN mostly. Let me know what exactly is the issue you facing while created Budget Posting.

During fund posting when I select fund ID under assignment block 'Line Item', the selected id getting refreshed to Blank.

As a result I cannot set budgets.

Hi Anoop,

Please make the following checks:

1. The Fund ID should be assigned to a Fund Plan ID where both the Fund Plan and Fund ID marked as released.

2. Create the Budget Posting from Fund ID screen itself. You will have an AB in Fund screen for Budget Posting.

I believe you are using Budget Posting of type 'Budget Update' BPUE.

Hi Prashanth,

During Fund Posting Transaction configuration I had mistakenly deleted Transaction Category 'Sales'.

But sure your reply guided me into write direction. I have query with respect to 'Planning Profile Group' is it mandatory to integrate CRM system to BI, can we simple implement fund management without BI integration?

It seems fund determination profile is not able to determine fund ID, any idea what could be the possible cause?

Hi Anoop,

Fund Determination is a logic which is incorporated in order for a fund consuming transaction like MDF Reservation, Claim, Campaign etc. to be able to identify that one particular fund amongst a whole set of funds under a Fund Plan linked to them.

SAP by default provides few attributes which can be used for fund determination: Product Category, Account, Account Hierarchy etc. These are to be defined at the config level while setting up the Fund.

In your case when there is a campaign which is say designed for a certain Account and the campaign is directed towards promoting a particular product category so while that happens both these attributes which are maintained at Campaign level assist in picking the Fund ID based on these attributes.

Nice to know you resolved the Funds plan and fund creation.

Were you able to create Budget as well ?

And for new question(s), you should open a new thread, but I will address it this time ..

To answer you question: How Fund is getting determined in a Campaign..

Prashanth has already answered it (Just to add to it.. These are the attributes contributes to Fund determination: Org data, Territory, Account hierarchy and Product hierarchy)

Now the question is how the integration of Funds Management with Campaign or Promotion.

Ans: Simple "TAP FEET" (Yes, like the "HAPPY FEET in the penguin movie )

What does "TAP FEET" stands for :

T - Transaction type of the camplaign you are selecting..

A - AVC (Availability Check)

P- Product Aggregation Type.

F - Fund Determination Profile, Level...

E - Expense type to Key figures (KF)

E-  Expense type to Accural Profile (E.g ERP_SV)

(Finally)

T-  Trade Spend to Expense Type

Hope this clarifies..

Planning Profile Group : This is the link between CRM & BI for TPM scenarios which essential for the KPIs (Key performance Indicator) ....

BI integration is essential because your planning cubes are sitting in BW-IP or BPC or BPS based on what you use in your client environment..

Hi Anoop,

Also check if you have assigned any status profile to transaction type FNP? if yes please check the user status to business transaction status mapping?

Hi Anoop,

Please check if you have business function CRM_CF_1 (Claims/Funds Management) and CRM_PCM_MDF_1 (Partner Channel management, MDF) activated on your CRM system.
