Is LIS/SIS supported in ECC6 by SAP?

Dear SD gurus,

My client has 4.7 and is planning for a technical upgrade to ECC6. They use SIS tables extensively for sales reporting and other credit related processes. As far as I know, we can still upgrade and go ahead with the current setup but SAP doesn't support it anymore.

Am I right?

If we have to get rid of SIS what can we use to replace it besides BW reporting?
