Hi,

Can anyone explain the difference between Urgent Change creation by directly and via RFC. Is the only difference is Authorization?

And also explain the maintenance cycle process in Urgent Change.

Hi Selva

You should try to find the answers yourself first before posting questions on SCN.

I'll answer the first question for you. You can create an urgent change without a request for change, directly. You can also create an urgent change via a request for change. The difference is in the process really. Do you have a requirement for utilizing request for change or not. Reasons for not having a request for change can be that the request for change is done in an external tool (non SAP change management) or that there is no requirement or use case for utilizing request for change. If the same person creates the request for change, gives the approval and creates the urgent change, is there still a reason to have the request for change. Again, it's a decision that should be made based on the desired process, actors involved etc.

For the second question, please read online resources first, I'm pretty sure you can find an explanation of this. If not, please read the sources, write your thoughts so we can see you do some effort and not just ask anything you need to know and I'm sure the community will help you out further.

You can use below key words (as an example) in Google search to find relevant resources:

maintenance cycle urgent change CHARM site=scn.sap.com

Hi Selva,

Tom has already answered the first question.

And for second query I will like to add that Urgent change can move by status change asap required upto production but the thing is it will remain in buffer of all systems which are in your landscape for re-import.

The reason behind is that urgent change also get imported by maintenance cycle also.

Please like my post if find helpful.Let me know if you need more explanation.

Regards,

Abhishek
