How we can prolong - SAP Solution Manager 7.2 Demo System with S/4HANA

Dear colleagues,

SAP Solution Manager 7.2 Demo System with S/4HANA is free for 30 days. Is possible prolong this demo for more than 30 days without losses of any settings – keep all current settings?

• Is possible prolong demo for more than 30 days free of charge and what is process to do it?
• Can we keep all settings made before in first 30 days?
• What is the fee if prolong is paid and who can be contacted?
• We will use it internally and for customer purposes. Is this possible?
• Do you send me any information / documentation for this solution?

Hi Vladimir

The only problem might be SAP HANA license that expires if that SAP HANA license has been build on SAP's internal "installation number" for example it might be tricky. You should check this, if you can replace the SAP HANA license by a valid, permanent license, unless it's already permanent and never expires then this isn't a problem.

Furthermore you would need to put (at minimum) a demo/test license in the ABAP and JAVA instance to avoid the system running out of a valid SAP license and I also assume SAP CAL starts to run as a subscription after free trial period ends (or needs to run as a subscription) thus there will be a cost associated to SAP CAL usage as well. The instance runtime will also still represent a separate cost on the cloud platform it runs on (for example run time on Amazon AWS = on-demand cost of Amazon to run such an instance and will be billed on a monthly base).

My suggestion would be to check with SAP Product Management (Evan Stoddard) and if needed SAP CAL team.
