Creating a table in HCP Schema

Hi All,

I am using SAP Data Services in HCI and HCP.

I have imported a table from ECC using import.

Now I need to created same table in my HCP Schema. I don't want to do this manually. In BODS there used to be a template option that I could not find in HCI.

How can I do that?

I need this asap.

Thanks

RS

Hi RS,

I can confirm that HCI-DS (HANA Cloud Integration for data services) does not provide template tables like we have in SAP Data Services. HCI-DS can only load data into pre-existing tables.

SDI (smart data integration) is much closer to what SAP Data Services provides. It does have template tables as well as many additional features which make SDI the recommended data integration tool for HANA on HCP. Note that SDI is included in all bundles that have HCI-DS.

Thanks,

Ben.

Thanks Ben!

But I believe you can import the table structure from HCI using HANA Design Studio.

That is after you have imported the table in to HCI DS.

It's the other way around... You create the table first in HANA Studio or HANA Web IDE, next you can import the table's metadata in HCI-DS to use it in a dataflow for loading data.

Thanks, do you have steps for that? I just wanted to check if I was doing it correctly. I go to Data Provisioning side and click on import. Then in the pop up I choose get meta data option and .....

Appreciate your help.
