Hi Experts ,
Can we extend the chars limit from 27 to 50 in code list description ?
I have certain list to create which are not in that 27 chars data limit.
Thanks

Hello Ashish,
Unfortunately not.
But, when you actually define the description you will notice that you are allowed to go till 40 characters through on papers it shows 27 characters. Not sure, if it is problem with my studio or it is actual behavior.
Let me know.

Saurabh

Not feasibile!
Workaround: Instead of defining it as Codelist data type, you can define it as Business object with two fields Code and description and you can define he LANGUAG EINDEPENDENT_Note dataype to store very long descriptions and build a custom OVS to disply those values to user.
May be not the best wokaround but 1 idea.

Superb Click Saurabh.
I was about to ask one more thing , is this possible to create such OVS and configure it in Business Configuration. So that every time I need not to go and made patch.
I need that flexibility where I can go and add the new addition to the list.
Any lead on this dude ?
Thanks
Ashish Sharma
Not particularly from Business Configuration but
Yes Ofcourse, You can generate screens on your business object too and you can assign those WCF to Business users in order for them to have NEW and EDIT button to create new records or too edit existing records + Custom OVS(which we discussed).

Saurabh
Ok Saurabh...Actually I am not able to get it completely.
I am briefing my requirement again. I need a dynamic list.Which I can modify without making any patch directly. ( same as list creation via adaptation)
Please provide some detailed information for this and if possible please ping me on Skype or send details on Skype @ ashish.sharma1485.
Thanks
Ashish Sharma
