Unable to Transfer to ERP due to error "No Planning Element has assigned to this Item"

Dear Experts,

I am unable to transfer the cost to ERP due to below error "No Planning Element assigned to this item".

I confirm the Financial View and the Portfolio Type configurations are correct.

I have created the PS Project from the item and also in PS the WBS is set to Planning Element. But I suspect in Portfolio Item the PS project number is not appearing (see below)

Also will this transfer possible if I create a cProject first and then transfer it to PS using Account integration, but the planned budget and cost I want to transfer from Item to PS WBS ?

Could you please guide ?

Note: I have gone through this thread but not help.

AP

Pls help as I have maintained the Object link 0FIRPMPROJECT and am able to create PS Project from Item using the PS Object Link using Template & Project PSPNR.

This project exists in SAP PS.

Pls tell me which all settings you need for resolution as I have done all of them followed by Financial Categories

Hi All,

Still getting the same error.

Object Link 0RPMFIPROJECT has all the settings.

I am able to create PS Project automatically from Item but when I click on Transfer to ERP I get

Able to MAP using PSPNR the Project ID but not the WBS Links

Hello Anil

Can you check the object link by clicking the "Object LInk" tab instead of the "Related Objects" tab as indicated by your screenshot. Or you can also check if a related PS project exist by checking table RPM_OBJ_LINK (Do this by taking Item GUID which you obtain from table /rpm/item_d and the input this into PROJECT_GUID on selection for table RPM_OBJ_LINK. Also input for field OBJECT_TYPE the value 0RPMFIPROJECT. Do you find anything?

If not then go into Item and then to Relationships -> Object Links and add PS project manually against object type as per screenshot:

Are you able to do this? If so then you can check the RPM_OBJ_LINK table again and also check if you still getting the error you described

If not then go to SPRO -> Portfolio Management -> Base System Interfaces -> Define Object Link Types and maintain for object type 0RPMFIPROJECT the relevant logical system

See if this helps.

Hi C,

Sorry I was not working, so replying with a delay. I checked in the tables and as I mentioned as I am creating a cProject from PPM Item and then sending it to PS using account integration the RPM OBJ LINK table has entries with object 0INMCPROJECT but not 0RPMFIPROJECT.

Then I tried to link using object link but I am not able to see the object type "Account Assignment PS Proj. Def. (RPM)" in my list is any object type is missing, rather I can see Account Assignment PS Proj. Def. (PS). While I am trying to search the relevant PS Project it gives no results.

The object 0RPMFIPROJECT has proper setting and as my PPM and ECC is on same server I have not maintained the RFC. Do I need to mention the same Client name ?

I am still getting the same error. Could you please check whether transfer to ERP is possible if we have triggered the PS Project from cProject but not from PPM Item directly ?

Hello Anil

If you triggered PS create from the cProject then the PS project is linked to the cProject and not directly to the item via 0RPMFIPROJECT

I am quite certain that in this scenario the planned transfer you are attempting is not possible. Any plan transfers will have to between the cProject to the PS project

Hello C,

Will it be possible if I linked the PS project created from cProject to Portfolio Item using Object Link and try to transfer ?

But however in that case I am not able to search any projects. Could you please suggest any way to show Planned vs Actual ?

Hello Anil

I have never tried that...

Accounting integration is either between Item and PS project, or cProject and PS project. In your case you have cProject and PS project integrated. From what we have learned do far in this thread the planning you are trying to post is dependant upon the Item -> PS link to be established

As I do not know your business requirement I cannot venture into whether Item -> PS or cProject to PS link is better, but what you can try is to do what you have proposed as a test. So, set up your 0RPMFIPROJECT link as well as DFM links under the Common Functions node. See if you can manually search for then add the PS project to the Item. I am assuming your master switch 0002 -> 0007 is also active ?

Take a look if this is possible

Hello C,

Thanks for your valuable input, I am using cProject to create the PS Structure from cProject using account integration rather that creating it manually in PS.

Now I want to establish the connection on PS Project to PPM Item to fulfill this requirement;

Transfer the cost to PS and pull the actual data from FI under different financial views.

But I am not able to find any entry in RPM OBJ LINK table with object 0RPMFIPROJECT rather it is 0INM**** objects.

Also as I mentioned earlier the search screen doesn't pull any details from PS.

Under Common function I have below entries;

I confirm that Master switch 0002-0007 is active.

Something is wrong somewhere.

Hello Anil

Lets check again:

SPRO-> Portfolio Management-> Base System Interfaces->Application Object Settings-> Define Object Link Types

You have maintained 0ROMFIPROJECT - e.g

Now. Check the following please:

SPRO-> Portfolio Management->Global Customising->Portfolio Independent Settings->Map Item Type to Project or PS

What mappings have you done here? E.g. Item type to Project Type, Item type to PS project - e.g. :

You don't need to do the sub mapping of DP to WBS (unless you want DP and WBS to map)

Can you check these settings and revert? What I do not know is since your project type (cProject Type) is accounting integrated whether this then affects your ability to account integrate your Item to PS.

Let me know

Hello C,

Really appreciate your effort. Here the below details;

After your suggestion I have change the configuration to PS Project from Portfolio Item without using cProject.

Hi Anil,

please check your object link customizing again:

Check the customizing for both the object link types: 0RPMFIPROJECT and 0INMPSPD:

-           GROUP

-           LOGICAL SYSTEM

-           RFC DESTINATION

-           ACTIVE

All should be the same for both object link types. ACTIVE must be set for both.

There must not be any other ACTIVE Object Link Type which has same GROUP, LOGICAL SYSTEM and RFC DESTINATION, otherwise FI link creation will fail.

Additionally, in below customizing 'Appl.' column must be set to 'SAPCO' for Object type 0RPMFIPROJECT:

TA spro

> SAP Portfolio and Project Management

> Portfolio Management

  > Base System Interfaces

   > Application Object Settings

    > Define Object Link Types

     > Settings for Object Link Type

      > Portfolio Add-On to Object Link Types

Hello Silvia,

Sorry for my late response, I checked as per your reply. I could not get a object named 0INMPSPD but the object 0RPMFIPROJECT has proper setting and as my PPM and ECC is on same server I have not maintained the RFC.

The below path is also properly maintained :

SAP Portfolio and Project Management -> Portfolio Management -> Base System Interfaces -> Application Object Settings -> Define Object Link Types -> Settings for Object Link Type -> Portfolio Add-On to Object Link Types

When I am searching the PS Project under "Object Link" Tab of PPM Item, I am getting no results. Could you please suggest ?

Note : I am using PPM 6.0 and I have integrated cProject from PPM Item and then creating a PS Project using Account integration and also the PS WBS is set for Planning Element.

Anil
