Failed to Connect to System Landscape Directory

0 Kudos

Hi

I have a client on SAP version 9.1 PL04.

Two of their machines this morning when logging on first thing had error message "Failed to Connect to System landscape Directory: Please contact your administrator"

Other machines unaffected.

We restarted SLD and Licence Manager without any change.

Remembering the Security Certificate problem a while ago we looked to see if there were any recent updates and there were. The machines that were working did not have these updates.

We removed these updates and the user could login to SAP again.

Hi,

it is right that there is no problem in Version 9.1 PL10 and higher.

First solutions update SAP

second solution   is to edit server.xml  from following note

2334025 - Windows Updates are causing issues in older versions of SAP Business One

Hi,

Uninstall Windows update KB3172605 if you can't see the databases. You can refer to SAP Note 2334025 if the issue is with the certificate. Also, disable windows updates and proceed with an upgrade to SAP 9.2 (SAP's recommendation).

By upgrading to SAP 9.2, it doesn't mean though that Microsoft will not release another update that will corrupt SAP.

Hi,

i think an update to 9.1 PL10 will not fix the problem, because we have customer with 9.2 PL3 with this problem.   This is not the error with the sld certificate.

The only fix at this time is to deinstall KB3172605.

Kind regards

Hi,

I deinstalled the windows update on one of our customer.

After this SAP could not finde the DB, after entering the DB manually I could log in SAP.

But they have to enter the DB everytime they start SAP.

Any solution to this problem?

Hi,

Check the content of the b1-local-machine.xml in C:\Program Files\SAP\SAP Business One DI API\Conf and C:\Program Files (x86)\SAP\SAP Business One\Conf.

<node name="REGISTRY">

    <node name="HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE">

      <node name="SOFTWARE">

        <node name="SAP">

          <node name="SAP Manage">

            <node name="SAP Business One">

              <leaf kind="single" name="LicenseServer" type="String">

                <value>SERVER:30000</value>

              </leaf>

The SERVER should correspond to the LicenceServer name.

Best regards,

Steven
