We are integrating Legacy system to GTS 10.1 system. In legacy system users maintain products by versions (21 to 21.X,21.Y etc..) and will add the classification for each revision items
My question - How can we handle these products when transferred to GTS? In GTS there are no Master Data fields for these items.
Is there a possibility to add a character at the end in GTS to classify?
Can some one share the solution/approach?
Thanks

Hi Srinivas,
If the version has (or can have) a different classification, then surely it should be a new Product in GTS?
So simply concatenate the Product number and the version as you send the data to GTS - for example '21X'. Then you can classify each version separately.
Of course, you would also need to concatenate the version when you transact.
Hope that works.

Dave

Thanks Dave for the quick response. The data transfer will happen through interface from Non SAP system to GTS.
For my better understanding,Could you please explain little bit more your response below?

Hi Srinivas,
Well, if you're transferring from a non-SAP system, I guess you've built that interface? So my suggestion is that, instead of mapping the legacy Product Number to the GTS Product Number, you instead map the legacy Product Number + the version number into the GTS Product Number field (PRVSY).
For example, instead of Product '21', you end up with Products '21A', '22B', etc.
Hope that's clear, and hope it helps.

Dave
