We want to monitor the users and hits for WPC-Pages. For displaying the informations we have several Activity Repoting iViews, some are user-centric others are hit-centric. The user-centric iView shows informations about logged in users. But for the hit displaying statistics we updated the portal, because atfer updating the Portal to 7.31.18 we should have the possibility to monitor hits and users for WPC-Pages.
Now we want to know how to configure the WPC-pages to collect informations about hits and users. Where is the place to configure this?
Hi Yozgat,
Thank you for using the SCN Discussion Forums
I see that you are on SP18 for 7.31. But just to make sure, have you seen the following note:
2293946 - Activity Report Support for Web Page Composer content
The note details on about the support for WPC pages in terms of Activity Reports.

We have updated the portal, caused to enable the WPC activity reports. This means note 2293946 is implemented in our system.
Our question is: How to enable the collection of hit- and user-informations in WPC pages?
The adding of a WPC page to an activity report iview is given by adding the whole role to the iview. Or is this there a better way to do this?
Hi ,
You need to add the Role to the activity Report iView and it will collect the hits of the pages/iviews that are under this role.
please notice that the iView has two properties that relevant to the activity reporting:
The Portal Activity Report monitors all the iViews and pages that are rendered (used at runtime) in the portal by portal users. This is done due to a property that exists on all iViews and pages in the portal called “Monitor hits” that is set to “true” (“yes”) by default. In case only part of the content is needed for statistics, it is recommended to set this property to “false” (“no”) for the unneeded content.
All portal pages have the property “Monitor Users”, and it is set to “false” (“no”) by default. If this property is set to “true” (“yes”), the Activity report will collect the names of all the users who used that portal page at runtime
* If you choose to use this property take into consideration that it might affect the performance of the report. For more information about the Portal performance recommendations for the Portal Activity Report
Portal performance recommendations for the Portal Activity Report - Portal - SCN Wiki
Thanks & Best Regards,
Sharon
I checked the connection between WPC and Role. There is a connection established. Also if I add the role to the activity report iView the list of items grows and shows also the WPC pages. But the reporting iViews shows nothing.
The activity reporting service is activated and also several times restarted.
Hi,
I have one more question to clarify :
Did you configured the activity report service : com.sap.portal.activityreport.core
according to the help - right ( it is mandatory ) ?
Configuring the Activity Report Service - Portal - SAP Library
If yes , I would suggest that you can open incident to component EP-PIN-SPT
and also open the system http connection and describe exactly the role name
and it's pcd location .
We need to analyse it in your system.
Thanks & Best Regards,
Sharon
