Removing Local Host Roles failed

Dear Experts,

Currently with HANA Database, we're struck with the error Removing Local Host Roles failed during removal of smart data Streaming role using console Interface as a prerequistic for uninstalling Smart data Streaming using console Interface.

For more error Information, refer the hdblcm.log in attachment.

Any ideas, please?

HANA does not currently support the removal of local roles. The only way to remove a local role is to uninstall and reinstall the full HANA system.

This is not unique to SDS but applies to any local role.

Thank you for your Response.

Actually, our Intention is to remove the SDS roles and not local roles.

Do you think, SAP mean, host roles are local roles? If that is the case, SAP would mention somewhere that unstalling SDS mean uninstalling whole HANA System.

We followed the Standard SAP Help as reference for unstalling SDS components.  For more information, you can refer the attached text file.

Any other alternative ideas?

Is SDS running on a separate Host in the HANA system? If so, then you need to remove the *host* as opposed to the *role*

SDS was deployed on the same host of HANA System.

Then, what can be done in this Scenario?

What version of HANA and SDS are you using?

If you are using SPS12, then apparently it is now possible to remove a local role. The documentation for doing so is here:

Assuming that you are using SPS12 and encountering this error when attempting to remove the local role then you should open a Support incident to properly investigate it.

However if you are using SPS11 or lower, then the ability to remove a local role did not exist and you would have to uninstall and reinstall HANA.
