SAP B1 connected directly with PO?

Hello,

we would like to connect one B1 with our central R3.

As I understood, to do this we must install B1if in B1 server and install one B1iSN server as a integration tool. This tool will work with API DI (B1 side) and RFC, Idoc,.. (R3 side). Some scenarios are provided.

My question is, is there a way to use SAP NW Process Orchestration as a integration tool instead of install this B1iSN server?

Can SAP NW Process Orchestration work directly with API DI?

For us will be better because we are already uisng SAP NW Process Orchestration as a integration tool.

Thanks in advance.

Hi Albert,

The short answer is no.

B1 has its own integration software because it is not technically a SAP software like R3.

The DI API is a driver that can (also) be referenced in most coding languages. You will have to ask a specialist on SAP NW Process Orchestration if it allows referencing and calling third party drivers, but my guess would be that it is not possible to use the DI API directly.

The current setup is really that in a sense B1iSN exports the data to a structure and format that can be imported by SAP NW Process Orchestration. It may just happen on the fly, instead of with files.

Johan

Hello Johan,

we saw that DI functionality can be used via SOAP web services (B1WS) that can be called directly from SAP NW Process Orchestration. Using this way we are going to create R3/B1 integration scenarios. During October we are going to do a proof of concept.

Thank you very much.

Hi Albert,

Thanks for letting us know. Would you please post back here later how the proof of concept went ?
