Error Installing AO 2.3

Hello,

We are trying to upgrade our users from AO 1.4 and EPM 10.0 SP 22 to AO 2.3. We have a bath file which does the following:

::Uninstall EPM add-in v22

MsiExec.exe /X{2C342070-8569-41F7-9DB4-6FF7D63AACA2} /qn

::Install Visual Studio Tools

"\\fre_filer02\sw_dist\BOBJ_Analysis\Analysis_23\vstor_redist.exe" /q

::Install .Net Framework

"\\fre_filer02\sw_dist\BOBJ_Analysis\Analysis_23\NDP461-KB3102436-x86-x64-AllOS-ENU.exe" /q /norestart

::INstall Analysis For Office

"\\fre_filer02\sw_dist\BOBJ_Analysis\Analysis_23\AOFFICE23SP00_0-70001611.EXE" /nodlg

For the majority of users this is working perfectly, but for a very small percentage the install completes and Analysis is added, but EPM is NOT.

Upon checking and trying to manually re-run the install, I find the error message attached.

I went into the programs and features to confirm that EPM was uninstalled and found no EPM program installed.

The only suggestions I've seen so far on the forums is to perform a "clean uninstall" but there are no directions given for this.

Thanks in advance for the assistance!

Hi Nitin,

To which version you are upgrading?

AO 2.3SP0 or SP1?

latest one is 2.3 SP01.

Thanks and Regards,

Hi Basavaraj,

Thank you for the reply. We are upgrading to AO 2.3 SP0. We know that SP1 is the latest, but we have spent much time testing SP0 and are not comfortable going to SP1 for general deployment yet.

For anyone else that might run into this issue, we did find a very simple solution.

1) Uninstalled AO 2.3 (as the Analysis part was installed)

2) Reinstall the previous version of EPM 10.0 (in our case SP22)

3) Immediately uninstall EPM 10.0 SP22 using the windows programs uninstall feature

4) Reinstall AO 2.3

In all cases this has resolved the issue. For once user, we did have to repeat the 1-4 two times, but it did resolve then.

Thanks!
