SAP ASE 16 sort code 22 (iso14651) configuration issue

Hey All,

Greetings of the Day!

I have just installed Sybase ASE 16 as a free trial version for testing and research purpose.

I wanted to configure sort code 22 (iso14651 [Ordering as per ISO14651 standard]) and

character set ID 4 during the installation. But it is not showing in the list. Please see the attached image.

Please help.

Hi Mahendra,

The "roman8" character set has id = 4 in the syscharsets table, try that and see if the iso14651 sort order then shows up in the menu for sort orders.

Hey Bret,

Thanks for your reply. "iso14651" is not showing in the list so I have selected "roman8" and installed the Sybase ASE 16.

Now to set default sort order I think I have to use following command :-

sp_configure 'default sortorder id', 22

You might first verify that the sortorder appears in syscharsets (one with that name and id 22  does appear on mine). 
As this is a fresh install, can't hurt much to experiment.
