Is mail attachment stored on SAP DMS server?

Hi All,

I'm having some confusion about where mail attachment is going to save.

I'm sending more than 500 mail with pdf attachment everyday. Now mail is sent, and i'm going on SOST transaction, It display my attachment is well, so want to know where this attachment is saved, is it on DMS (content server) or in SAP database etc.

because of this much of mails and attachment our SAP DMS get crashed, is there any links between mail attachment and DMS?

If it's on DMS, can we stop that? How?

If not, can i clear the same periodically?

Please explain.

    Hi Prajesh,

I made a short search here and saw that you have already posted this question before at

Here also two notes were provided. From DMS point of view this question on SOST is more related to the ABAP develoment side or if you need to raise a support ticket at component BC-SRV-COM.

    Best regards,

if you are sending mail, then it is obvious that your mail server will have the copy as the person receives in his mail inbox. here you need to check your C-Folder & ALE paths. Also as @Christoph Hopf mentioned, please do not create a duplicate discussion thread. If confusion, Search before you Post, if you like.
