DatePicker control does not save selected value

On a NetWeaver Studio 7.3 SPS 13 we have a view made on Visual Composer, on this view there's a DatePicker control which is used for a search form. The process would be to select a date and the value selected to be sent to the soap web service to perform the search.

The problem we are facing is that the date sent to the service is always the current date, no matter the selection made on the control, the date received by the service is always the current date.

We have no idea why the selected date is ignored, it's our first time using this control and it is weird for it to not work as supposed to.

Do we need more configuration for when the selection is made? Or is it something else?

We could not solve this issue, instead we were forced to use one of the functions that the control has to convert the selected value into a string. Without this, the selected value would be ignored every time.
