Cross-Catalog Search with SRM UI Add-On and SRM 7.0 EhP4

Hello all,

i have a question regarding Cross-Catalog Search functionality in SRM UI Add-On (software component SRMNXP01) being part of EHP4 for SRM 7.0 (release 150).

The SAP NetWeaver product version is 7.5

In SRM UI Add-On configuration cookbook from OSS note 1911004 - SRM UI Add-on Configuration Guide, settings for Embedded Search are described (RFC connection between TREX / embedded and search connectors creation based on model templates, also named search models).

In parallel, with software component SAP Business Suite Foundation (SAP_BS_FND), new Business Functions dedicated to HANA data base can be activated.

One (BSCBN_HANA_NAV) is used to transfer back-end data to fact sheets through OData services.

The other one (BSESH_HANA_SEARCH) is used to perform a cross-entity search through core SAP Business Suite applications.

For last BF, i can read this on SAP Help SAP HANA-Based Search for SAP Business Suite

'The new search is integrated into the SAP Fiori launchpad and comes with SAP UI5 user interfaces. It uses theSAP NetWeaver Embedded Search technology on an SAP HANA database. With SAP HANA as a basis, the search directly accesses transactional database tables.'

My question is very simple: does this mean with this Business Function, we can use Embedded Search based on SAP Hana (and not TREX) for Cross-Catalog Search in SRM UI Add-On?

I checked available models through ESH_COCKPIT transaction.

As explained in OSS note 1861013 - HANA-Enabled Search Models in the SAP Business Suite - Enable Fiori Search and Fact Sheets, i found software component SRMSERVERH

But i also found software component SRM_SERVER with SRM_PRODUCT application model.

Does this mean for Product Master Data from SRM, we can use Embedded Search based on SAP Hana for Cross-Catalog Search functionality in SRM UI Add-On?

an update on this thread, just to give answers to questions i asked.

No. As i wrote it, BF BSESH_HANA_SEARCH is used in the Fiori Launchpad Search functionality (using search model SRMSERVERH to generate search connectors for concerned purchasing documents).

For Cross-Catalog Search in SRM UI Add-On, search model is SRMNXP01.

2) Does this mean for Product Master Data from SRM, we can use Embedded Search based on SAP Hana for Cross-Catalog Search functionality in SRM UI Add-On?

Yes. But, search model remains SRMNXP01.

Actually, i did not find what is the use of search model SRM_SERVER...
