Hi Bpc Friends

I need to have an input form with some column not imputable because are actual and the other imputable because are forecast data.

I have locked the actual columns and when I run the input form it works but if I change some dimension members and I refresh the actual columns become imputable. I don't know why???

Thanks

Michele

Use formatting sheet!

Use data validation rule instead of locking cells.

P.S. And it's not a good idea to combine Actual and Forecast categories in the same report, better to copy Actual months to specific forecast category.

How can I use formatting sheet to lock some columns?

You have 2 options:

1. Apply "Formatting on specific member" - Actual - EPM Lock selected cell (if you use 2 categories - not recommended)

2. Format all data are with validation rule depending on column number (if you use single category - forecast)

Hi Michelle,

Go through this link...EPM Add-in Academy - Enterprise Performance Management - SCN Wiki

Under Formatting section see Conditional formatting.

In that case they have used Monthnum to decide the formatting....but in your case simply you can use Category ID Actual and Forecast to derive the Y & N in IF function. OR use the same case....

Hope this helps..

JP

For 2 categories you don't need any validation rules!!! No conditional formatting!!!

"Category ID Actual and Forecast to derive the Y & N in IF function" - what for???

You can simply format specific members.

P.S. And it's a good idea to read help about dynamic formatting: "28.1 Dynamic Formatting Template Definition"

Yes I know....format specific members is also an option but since you had already specified it.....I dint thought that repeating it was a good idea!   Conditional Formatting is also an option!

You have to differentiate 2 cases:

1. Single forecast category with first months copy from actual. In this case Conditional formatting and validation rule is the only "dynamic" option.

2. 2 categories - in this case formatting specific member is simple and correct solution (including cell protection). No reason to use more complex things.

Hi

I have took off the excel protection from the actual column.

I tried the epm formatting but it doesn't work the protection, only work the formatting in a different colour

Please have a look at the different screen shots

This is the report structure

I have used a time property to identify the actual months

Sorry, but you are doing something strange! Don't use "Specific SelectionLocked Cells"!

Test simple report, with different formatting for: IN_SAPGL and not IN_SAPGL

Like here:

Hope it's clear!

P.S. Not for ACTUAL:
