After ERP upgrade some events are triggered twice

Hi,

A complete newbie here. Have only been working with workflow fulltime for about a three months now, so I apoligize if my question reflects my lack of experience.

But here goes:

My company are in the process of upgrading out SAP ERP from:

to

During testing in our D and Q systems we have discovered that some workflows are somehow being triggered twice, where they before weren't.

There have been no transports with new code or customizing done for these workflows for more than a year. They were stable workflows until the upgrade.

The two instances are:

and

This will give the users two entries in their inbox'es when they should only have one.

I stress that this is not all workflows that this has happened to.

So far I have checked the following:

SWEC - Events for Change Documents

Nothing has been set up for these combinations of BO and Event. I have double-checked with my production system (which is running fine with the old SAP version) and the settings are similar here.

SWEL - Event Type Linkages

These are the setting for Event Type Linkages for the two combinations of BO/Event:

And finally I have made sure that there aren't any extra starting events for the workflows:

Any hints at what I should check next will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Thanks to everyone who answered my question and came up with suggestions.

The problem has now been solved. Turns out I was looking at the wrong Events. I found out that there had been created an entry for BUS2032 Changed event in 'Event for change document' (SWEC).
When I removed this both problems were solved.

    Hi Michael,

I think you mention SWEL but provided entries from SWETYPV / SWE2 ?

Have you run the workflow event trace ? (SWELS / SWEL ) ?

On the instances in double could you check in the workflow log in the history table of the very first task what is the event which triggered both instances ?

    Cheers

    Stephane

    Hi Michael,

Please check which event(s) is triggered twice using the event trace.

There are certain known issues from application area, eg. BUS2012 Event RELEASESTEPCREATED mentioned in the following KBA note.

2160493 - Duplicate Workflow events are raised

      Hello Michael,

If these events are custom one they have to be raised twice if You see them in WF event trace.

I would check the place where these events are raised. It is possible that it might be some EXIT and after upgrade it can be maybe called twice...

Put breakpoint there and debug - You should know the reason.
